Kelis, another artist has collaborated with fashion photograhers Rankin and Chris Cottam.The video has a has an abstract fashion-magazine-shoot feel to it.

I love this aspect of photography. You can achieve this through a specific camera like a lomo camera and film cameras or through software programs like Photoshop. Below are pictures i have edited using Photoshop for my friends Muna and Noorashima.

21st century photography is dominated by digital operation, but the older photochemical methods continue to serve many users and applications.

With the right gear doesn't not mean the you produce a great photo. How to use and operate a DSLR camera takes months and years to master.

Practice makes perfect!!..so here is a tutorial on how to do a simple photo manipulation technique. It is called Wraps and Blends technique. Is semi-advanced so if you are new to Photoshop then you will have difficulty understanding this. Any Questions please feel free to ask me.

Anyways you will need a photo and a texture.
Below are my choices, you can work with anything you want, either with your own photos or web images. You can search for textures on the web too. so lets get going. The images below are the final manipulated image, the texture(rusty) and the unedited image of Cameron Diaz(one of my favourite actresses.

Here is how:
Open a texture you want to use

*Then instead of going to 'open' go to 'place' & open the face photo you want to use (X-Y...means the dimensions/across & down) Hold the shift key down while dragging the corner of you pic - to make the photo bigger or smaller to fit to the texture (Holding the shift key down makes the photo stay in proportion-if you don't it can end up wider / longer on one side & it will look out of proportion)

*When it is the right size-hit enter-then right click on the photo layer & select rasterize layer
*You should have 2 layers
*Duplicate both layers
*You now have 4 layers......starting from the very top-we'll call that layer 1.....
Layer 1 - Face
Layer 2 - Texture
Layer 3 - Face
Layer 4 - Texture
*Set the top layer to "Multipy"......set the other 3 to "Normal"
*But play around with these, it varies from photo to photo-sometimes
*Erase parts of the eye/mouth from Layer 1 & 2 to leave Layer 3 showing through......the rest is just trial & error....
*Adjust brightness/contrast/levels/curves
*Use dodge/burn tools to lighter & darker areas on different layers
****Save your work & fiddle around (that's where most of my skill comes from, just from fiddling & trying everything! :)

Camera have nothing to do with taking great pictures, to take a great picture you have to know how to take a great picture.

I use the sony cybershot 10 megapixels and Canon 500D.



As most beginners like my self we instantly discover that simply having the best tools and technically sharp images doesn't get the glorious, passion-inspiring results we intended.

One thing i enjoy so much is taking photographs and editing them. I never get too tired of doing them. It is true when they say, when you enjoy something, there is never enough time.

Today, our head of school of Applied science, Dr. Renee released our research project titles. I didnt know what to expect since we had to do twice the selection but i was up for any challenge since every topic was interesting enough. I was assigned the title investigating the genes expressions of
isoforms generated by alternative spicing of mouse. Genes studied are Cat eye Snydrome chromosome region,insulin like growth factor binding protein, Neural retina leucine Zipper gene and Gap junction membrane channel protein alpha. My Supervisor being Dr. Huang (Human Molecular Genetics Lectuter).This project roughly takes about 1 year to complete

i usually watch big game nights such the UEFA champions league FINAL(but this year i didnt get to watch it..Bummer!!)

Why am i posting this, well to brag of course hehe, the 1st KENYAN, McDonald Mariga who plays for Inter Milan got his first Gold medal before the likes of Didier Drogba and a bunch of other football players. Funny thing he didnt even work up a sweat to get it. LIFE!
